On the outskirts of Rockhampton, Carinity Education – Glenlee is a co-educational independent Special Assistance School offering Years 7 to 10  to young people disengaged from mainstream education.  The School will expand to include year 11 in 2017 and year 12 in 2018.

Our schools are proud to be different. Carinity Education is a creative engine for ambition, growth, and personal achievement. We welcome young people who are disconnected from their schools or community, and are committed to developing our students’ self-belief and hope for a future.

Our approach to learning is individualised and incorporates the student’s life journey. We acknowledging that people learn in different ways and at different speeds, with different goals. Each student works closely with an allocated mentor, usually a youth worker, so that their journey is supported and they are never left to feel isolated or invisible within the community.

Carinity Education – Glenlee also approaches learning in unexpected ways that make learning more engaging. We have a focus on learning that develops creativity and passion, as well as providing real-world application for lessons. Expressions of creativity through art and language can have extremely positive impacts, while our hospitality training gives students the chance to learn valuable life and employment skills.

The qualifications gained at Carinity Education schools are the same as mainstream schools, however there is an additional focus on personal development as well as extensive mentoring and support from youth workers and specialist teaching staff.
