Hospital and Aged Care Chaplaincy
Our chaplains play an important role in the holistic wellbeing of residents, hospital patients, staff and their families and are an integral part of the health care team, bringing hope, spiritual care, support and encouragement to people in times of need, or simply provide a listening ear and company when required.
Ministering to people of all faiths and no faith, our chaplains, many of whom are volunteers, also offer devotional and church services, funerals and memorial services, or just act as a referral to put people in touch with other health services or organisations.
Offering complete confidentiality, our chaplains enjoy listening and helping people on their journeys with empathy and compassion. This may involve helping people to accept and cope with major life changes such as illness, deteriorating health and mobility, death and moving into an aged care centre; but they also help people find meaning and connection in the well times, making warm friendships with the people they visit.
Chaplaincy support is available in all of our aged care centres as well as 15 hospitals in Queensland.
Through The Training Collaborative, Carinity is now offering online training in Certificate IV in Chaplaincy & PastoralCare, click here for more information.
Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy
Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy formally joined Carinity in July 2016, expanding our chaplaincy ministry. Inside Out brings Jesus to prisoners to transform their lives while they are inside prison and when they are out.
Today, our team of over 30 volunteer chaplains provides effective and coordinated pastoral care in 17 correctional centres throughout Queensland, click here for more information.
